Trunk Panels & Stereo

With all the room a B-Body has, it only makes sense to use some of it for a kickin' sound system. Well for me, it made sense cause I still had a bunch of stuff left over from a previous car that just needed a home. the problem was a place to mount my two amps. So After doing some digging on the Impala SS forum as well as Car Stereo.com, I found templates to make my own trunk side panels.

I used the template to start and refined the panel by fitting and then re-cutting with a jig saw. After I got it cut properly, I used carpet ( from Home Depot) to cover the panels. it just so happens they had color matching material.

I ended up with the following installed system:

  • Clarion Head Unit

  • Kenwood DSP

  • Kenwood 12 channel active crossover

  • ADS 860MX (running the four stock interior speakers.....yuk)

  • PPI A1200 (running two JL Audio 10" subs)

  • QLOGIC 2-10" bandpass box

  • Pheonix Gold Reference Series RCA cables.
